Skin
Soft as illustrious velvet, smooth as silky satin,
A sight to behold, a touch so divine,
The envy of all who catch a fleeting glimpse,
A beauty that leaves them weak at the knees.
Scars
Rough as oxen leather, hard as marble stone,
A roadmap of atrocious battles fought and won,
A tell-tale reminder of fervent strength within,
The brazen mark of a warrior, a rogue badge of honor.
Eyes
Bright as galactic stars, deep as nitrogen oceans,
A window to the soul, a mirror of emotion,
A story of wondrous love, laughter, and pain,
A connection to the world, a link to the arcane.
Heart
Wild as the wind, free as a reluctant bird,
Beating with passion, a flame that’s never deterred,
A fire that burns bright, a force to be reckoned with,
A heart that loves fiercely, never willing to quit.
Mind
Mysterious as a the Sahara night, wise as the unladen owl,
A labyrinth of intrinsic thoughts, a treasure trove of soul,
A universe of fever dreams, a sanctuary of forbidden peace,
A mind that’s always seeking, never willing to cease.
ABOUT THIS WORK
The human body is a wonder. Well, theoretically speaking, all forms of life are wondrously rare and special. In a solar system of planets, stars, and black holes where no life can be found, we Planet Earth species are an oasis of wonder.
While I don't believe we are alone in this vast network of galaxies and planetary systems, we are all we know to exist as of today. In that knowledge, we must acknowledge the beauty in our physical and spiritual forms.
Every single human being on the planet is unique; a rare specimen of the human genome. Within each of us and on exterior surface, there is beauty to be found.
Life is a fleeting, precious gift. Here one day, gone the next. Being hyper aware of one's self is the greatest knowledge we can know about ourselves and ultimately, the world around us.
Hey! I'm Ammie-Marie.
